Understanding the Impact of CVI
Understanding the Impact of CVI
Understanding the Impact of CVI provides educators and professionals with a comprehensive exploration of Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) through the Perkins framework.
The course focuses on an in-depth examination of each of the 16 visual behaviors associated with CVI, equipping participants with a thorough understanding of how these behaviors affect individuals and how to support them. Participants will learn how to observe these visual behaviors in students and support effective compensatory strategies to meet their needs. Additionally, the course covers the history and methodology behind these visual behaviors, neuro-visual plasticity, and diagnostic criteria for identifying CVI.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to apply this knowledge in customizing program planning and developing strategies to better support students with CVI in educational settings.
