Planning Instruction for Students with CVI
Planning Instruction for Students with CVI
This course provides educators with a comprehensive understanding of instructional planning that considers the unique needs of students with Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI).
Participants will explore how CVI impacts incidental learning and concept development, and learn the benefits of experiential, multi-sensory teaching approaches. The course emphasizes the systematic instructional planning process, where CVI assessment results guide decisions on who, what, where, and when instruction occurs.
Educators will develop measurable IEP goals, create detailed lesson plans aligned with common core or expanded core curricula, and implement these plans using organized data collection methods. Additionally, learners will reflect on their growth mindset during the planning process, ensuring a flexible and responsive approach to student needs.
